How to Feel More Energetic
Feeling energetic is a key to feeling happy. Studies show that when you feel energetic, you feel much better about yourself. On the other hand, when you feel exhausted, you feel overwhelmed and blue.
Energy
(or lack of energy) is contagious. If you feel energetic, you will help the
people around you feel energetic, too. And that makes them feel happier. In
fact, being an energizer was one of the strongest predictors of a positive
performance at work. Try one of these techniques:
1. Exercise:
Exercise
makes your spirit up, even a quick 10-minute walk will increase your energy and
boost your mood. This really works! Try it!
2. Go Outside:
Just
20 minutes outdoors is enough to feel more energetic. If you cannot go outside
just open your curtains and let sunlight come into your room.
3. Get Enough Sleep: Sleep deprivation is the most
common cause of low energy and fatigue. Most adults need 8 hours of sleep every
night. If you are sleeping in late on weekends, it’s is a sign that you don’t
get enough sleep. For some people, taking a 10-30 minutes nap is a big help. I take power nap, whenever I feel overloaded. Make a
schedule and take nap every day for effective working.
4. Laugh More: Laughter is a proven stress-buster and it can boost
energy levels too.
5. Drink More Water: Being dehydrated
makes you feel tired and irritable. If you are not thirsty, that does not mean
that you drink enough water. By the time you feel thirsty it’s too late-you are
already dehydrated.
6. Break a Routine: Having
the same old routine every day sucks out your soul and steals your energy. Do
not allow yourself to get stuck in a routine. Do something new and interesting on
a regular basis.
7. Listen to Soft Music:
Music is energy booster. Listen to your soft music and try to sing as well.
8. Take a shower: Shower gives your body instant relief from dullness.
You would feel magical effects after taking shower.
9. Talk to Friends: Isolation is a
recipe for bad mood and low energy. Even when you don’t feel like dealing with
anyone, spending time with a person whose company you enjoy will energize you. So
next time when you feel low, interact people you like to talk.
7. Express Yourself: Emotions
that are unexpressed remain stored in your body. This causes fatigue because
the physical body then spends a great deal of energy holding onto those
emotions.
8. Build a Desire to achieve something:
When
you have a goal, you will tend to work harder to achieve it. And once you
finish it, you will feel great. Think about it.
9. Get
Something Done: To do list provides a big rush of
energy. You will be amazed at how great you feel afterward.
10. Intake Magnesium rich food: It is tempting to reach for a carton of ice cream when you are feeling dull, but in the end, all those extra calories will just drag you down. Try to take balanced diet and magnesium rich food. Eat whole grains and lesser sugar.
